BubbleBum the “Portable and Inflatable” Booster Seat Review

ABOUT:

BubbleBum is the only cost-effective, portable, lightweight, safety approved, inflatable car booster seat for children aged between 4-11. It easily deflates and folds flat so that children or moms can carry it in backpacks or handbags. BubbleBum is perfect for holidays, rental cars, taxis, school trips or car pooling. Kids love the funky color and cool design! The compact design makes it easy to fit 3 kids across the rear seat!

To use:

Children must be between 40lbs and 80lbs in weight
Children must be over the age of 4
AND it must be used with a 3 point seat belt (the kind that goes across your lap and chest)

BubbleBum has been tested and approved to both the ECE R44.04 standard and crash tested to meet the USA FMVSS213 standards. BubbleBum is designed to position the seatbelt correctly in the event of a crash and prevent submarining of the child.

MY THOUGHTS:

When I first heard about an inflatable booster seat, I thought it was a joke. But BubbleBum is no joke and it is actually pretty awesome! It is inflatable but think more heavy duty raft than beach ball. Once removing BubbleBum from its included storage bag just open up and blow into it to blow up. It took me 3-4 good blows to inflate it. Then you just place it in your car and put the seatbelt through both seatbelt holders on each side. It basically looks to me like all the other backless booster seats out there, minus the arm rests.

BubbleBum is different though as it is lightweight and portable. It is perfect for all those times you need an extra booster seat on hand! For us, BubbleBum is a perfect for us to use in my husband and in-laws cars. My boys are sometimes in their cars and it is somewhat of a pain to keep transferring their booster seats, plus then we have to remove to get them back! With BubbleBum we can afford to keep one in my husband and in-laws trunk so if the boys go with them, they are ready without sacrificing their backseat all the time to booster seats. BubbleBum really is portable. It is also great if you need to squeeze three booster seats in your back seat! We will also be taking this with us when we need a rent a car as it is not always easy to rent a car seat plus its the comfort for my kids to use something they are familiar with. (No booster seat may be used on airplanes though since they don’t have three point seatbelts.) Installing this booster seat is also super easy and my son was super excited to sit on it. We had no problems!
