MY THOUGHTS:

Do you know your states booster seat laws?  (To check your states laws, visit Governors Highway Safety Association)  Here in Illinois children 7 and under are required to be in a child restraint and other states have varying ages and laws.  Regardless though of your state’s laws, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) actually recommends children remaining in booster seats up to age 12.  Booster seats are there to help seat belts fit kids properly across their shoulders, breastbone and lap and without them kids are not safely secured.  I have even showed my son Aidan (5 years old) how unsafe it is to sit without his booster seat by buckling him without a booster and he even complained how the seat belt fit across him.  He actually loves his booster seat!

While I do like high back booster seats (like Evenflo Big Kid High Back Booster Car Seat) more the Evenflo Amp No-back Booster seat is perfect for quick on-the go trips.  I especially love it for when Aidan goes in grandma’s car since it is such a portable booster seat and not only is it safe but so easy to use.  This would be perfect too for traveling via airplane as you can easily check-it so it is ready for the rent-a-car.  There is no installation, just put in the car and buckle your child in!  My son loves the little arm rests on each side as well as the cup holders!  I love that I can easily wipe clean the fabric or machine wash it if need be!

With so many styles and colors available through Evenflo, it can definitely a hard choice picking one but there is one for all kids.  The No-Back Booster Seat is great for kids who think a car seat is babyish but are not yet old enough to go without one.  They make sitting in a booster seat (car seat) cool, or at least my 5 year old thinks so!  So he thinks he is sitting in a big boy seat and I have the assurance he is safe.
