ABOUT THE BOOK:
MY THOUGHTS:
This is not a Chicken Soup book full of recipes but rather a book filled with stories and memories revolving around food. When I think about it so many of my own stories and memories have a meal in them. I pretty much always remember the food we ate surrounding special occasions or good times. There were stories I could relate to in the book, like a pregnant women who craved steak during her pregnancy (she was a vegetarian though) or making a gravy mountain in your mashed potatoes and your spouse not understanding. What I love too about Chicken Soup books is that the stories are only 2-3 pages each so you can read one or more at a time. For a busy mom I sometimes only have time (and need) to read one story.

My parents kept sugar-laden cereal out of the house, but we were always guaranteed Froot Loops at grandma and grandpa's house every other summer when we visited! :)
The kitchen always smelled so good when my mom made Chicken Popperkosh
Food Memories...as I am dieting right now....thinking of food is painful....but my fave memories are Thanksgivings--our large family of 45 people get together--and everyone has their signature dish they have to bring...Me--I bring Sweet Potato Casserole with Prailene Topping and 2 Pecan Pies...and Pilgrim Hat cookies...but I can so taste the homemade Sausage Stuffing!
Making cookies with my mom!
My whole childhood was influenced by women who were fantastic cooks. To this day, when I want to comfort or heal someone, I start by cooking for them :)
I remember when I was little my parents would not let me get up from the table until all of my food was eaten. I remember one particularly bad night (I had already been there for a long time, crying, begging to be done). I ended up getting sick in my food.
The smell of chicken soup reminds me of being back in my childhood days. Comforting.
My mom always makes her baked mac n cheese when I visit. Thanks for the giveaway.
I ate a green bean and it squirted in my little sister's face!
I have great memories of eating the cute little curls on the top of my mom's lemon meringue pie
