ABOUT THE BOOK:
MY THOUGHTS:
This is not a Chicken Soup book full of recipes but rather a book filled with stories and memories revolving around food. When I think about it so many of my own stories and memories have a meal in them. I pretty much always remember the food we ate surrounding special occasions or good times. There were stories I could relate to in the book, like a pregnant women who craved steak during her pregnancy (she was a vegetarian though) or making a gravy mountain in your mashed potatoes and your spouse not understanding. What I love too about Chicken Soup books is that the stories are only 2-3 pages each so you can read one or more at a time. For a busy mom I sometimes only have time (and need) to read one story.

Funny food memory…when my now 14 year old was about 3, we were eating out and I was having eggs benedict. My son asked me why there was sauce on the plate under the food, and I replied that the sauce had just run down off the eggs. He sat there for a minute, really serious expression on his face, and then replied to me “but mommy, sauce doesn’t have legs.” good memory 🙂

I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. The heartfelt stories are perfect for a busy person to read. Although, I was hoping that this one would have a good amount of recipes in it, I’m sure it will still be a great read.
