My Droid Xyboard Hot Spot Saved Me From Watching Mice Races #VZWSS

So Sunday night my flight time came and went as I sat in LaGuardia airport in New York. Due to crazy storms and wind, flights were cancelled or delayed, luckily mine was just delayed. So I arrived at the airport at like 5:30 PM for my 8:20 flight but our flight time kept getting pushed (once it even teased us and got bumped earlier only to crush our dreams later.)

Anyways so what saved my sanity in the airport for those five hours, other than my four travel buddies, was my Droid Xyboard. I was able to use it as a Hot Spot and get some work done on my laptop. Without the Internet I would have probably gone crazy, okay I know that is an exaggeration but I seriously would have so bored and fell even more behind with work. In case you are wondering what a Hot Spot is, I’ll tell you. Since my Droid Xyboard has Verizon 4G, I was able to use my Xyboard’s 4G Internet to power my laptop’s Internet, kinda like a router. I could have worked directly on my Xyboard but I had some documents on my laptop that I wanted to work on and needed the Internet for it. So I turned on the Hot Spot on my Xyboard and placed it in my bag then worked on my laptop. I was able to work for about four hours and actually get stuff done, rather than just sit and hang out in the airport (which by the way had mice running back and forth!) Oh how fun I could have had watching the mice race around, yeah no thank you!  The Hot Spot can get up to five devices at one time online and yes you can set a password and secure it so strangers around you aren’t connecting.

While I don’t use the Hot Spot too often, I am finding that I am starting to use it more and more and it has been a savior at times for me. My biggest time it saved me was when our power was out for four days last month – no I could not go four days without the Internet. I had no problems really with my connection (few small hiccups but nothing major) and I no longer travel anywhere without my Xyboard!
