I was just a year old when E.T. came out the first time but I remember watching it when I was younger and loving it. Drew Barrymore’s character was always my favorite and it was probably one of the first family movies we all appreciated. I remember laughing and laughing at E.T. with my mom because really he was such a cool little alien! Now I love that I can enjoy the movie with my own children. My boys have fallen in love with E.T. and cared about what happened to his character. They didn’t care that he was different or an alien, just that he was a friend who was lost. From the scene of “E.T. Phone Home” to riding the bicycle with E.T. in the bike basket flying, the movie is a classic.
When an imaginative boy meets a lost alien, it is the beginning of one of cinema’s most endearing friendships, as Elliot (Henry Thomas) helps the marvelous creature he calls E.T. find his way back home before government agents can capture him.
