Little Pim: I Can Count (Spanish)
Studio: Little Pim Co.
Running Time: 35 minutes
In this Spanish DVD for young kids, join Little Pim and his friends as they count all sorts of fun objects in Spanish – from ladybugs to lollipops to dancing feet. Once kids learn to count to ten, they want to do it again and again. DVD 6 features two new characters, Lola the Elephant and Bob the Bobcat, and introduces 60 Spanish words and phrases that will keep kids happily entertained as they count everything they see.
Learning a foreign language is something that I think it important for everyone to do and I have heard it is easiest when you start when your young. Kids brains are like sponges and they crave knowledge so this is the perfect time to expose them to a foreign language, but at least for my kids it has to be fun for them to pay attention. Little Pim is a series that introduces kids (0-6 years old) to a foreign language in short DVDS (about 35 minutes.) It uses a little panda (and friends) to get kids excited about watching and listening.
My kids are 5, 4, and 18 months and they love watching Little Pim Spanish for Kids “I Can Count.” You can play with both English subtitles on or off, which we have done both, but my kids just love to listen to it and repeat. While my boys are definitely getting something out of the DVD, my 18 month old is perfect for it as she is just learning her words and loves to repeat. It is a quick DVD that I don’t mind watching with my kids and it is short enough that we can watch everyday, since repetition is important for kids to remember new things. We chose Spanish for my kids to learn since that seems like a valuable language to know today, but there are also DVDs for Italian, German, Arabic, Hebrew, Portuguese, Japanese, French, Chinese, and Russian. There are books, flashcards, and the DVDs all in different languages and themes for kids to watch.
