My boys love pretty much build all day long with their blocks that now my 18 month old is trying to follow in their footsteps.  She of course just wants to eat the little blocks they use, but luckily we have a big tub of Mega Bloks that she has been having a blast with.  Mega Bloks is a brand I have trusted as the first blocks for my kids and I love how they turn regular blocks into something more.  For example, Mega Bloks has the First Builders Safari Train which combines animals, a train and of course Mega Bloks.

As soon as my daughter saw this in the box she wanted it open.  From the bright colors to the fun animals and actual choo-choo sound, it is the perfect toy for a little one.  The train has just enough pieces for kids to play with and get started and they can add in their own Mega Bloks for more fun.  My daughter built and re-built this train all by herself and she was so proud to show it off.  I love how the pieces stay together but not hard enough that she can’t take them apart.  Its fun too to have the two train pieces where she can stack any Mega Bloks on as we didn’t have anything like that before.  Oh and this toy does not require any batteries!  Yeah for no batteries!  To get the train to whistle, you just push down and it toots.  Simple but fun your young kids.  My 4 year old even played with this, but I definitely think my 18-month old had more fun with it.
