Chicken Soup for the Soul: Parenthood: 101 Heartwarming and Humorous Stories about the Joys of Raising Children of All Ages

By Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Amy Newmark
400 Pages (Paperback)
Date Published: March 12, 2013

The 101 stories in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Parenthood will touch your heart, make you laugh, and remind you why there is no better job than being a parent!

Parenting – it’s a tough job, but also the best. Filled with anecdotes and advice from parents raising children of all ages, this book will uplift, inspire, and encourage you. Other parents, just like you, share their personal stories about all the joys, and the trials, of raising children.

While there is definitely not a instruction manual for parents as kids come in all shapes and sizes, this Chicken Soup book is a great read.  It has stories for all sorts of parents who make other parents feel like you are not alone!  I laughed and cried at the 2-3 page stories, which are so easy to read hear or there.  This is a great book for either first time parents or long-time parents. With 101 stories there is at least one story everyone can relate to.

  • My best parenting tip is to never downgrade your child with negative words, always let them know how proud you are of them for the best that they accomplished.

  • My best parenting tip is to take is easy on yourself. Nobody is perfect but you can do your best and be proud!

  • Don't try to be there best friend, be their parent. They will have many friends but you are the only parents they will ever have.

  • my best tip is to remember that one day your kids might be changing your diapers so watch how you treat them

  • If you want your teens to talk to you about anything, try not to bug out your eyes when they say something shocking! It's not always easy, but my girls know they can talk to me about anything and we keep the lines open!
