Ever since Christmastime, my kids have been addicted to Skylanders and by addicted I mean totally in love with and can’t live without! I honestly don’t mind them playing Skylanders as it can be quite silly with them earning different hats and it forces my kids to work together! In case you haven’t seen the game before, when using two players there is a string attached to the players in the game so they have to go in the same direction and work together! It is adorable to see my boys play together.
The problem though that we’ve been having that my boys want to play Skylanders and not work on homework. Even if they don’t have homework, I want them practicing every day on workbook pages especially this summer. I actually plan this summer to work with them for at least an hour each day so they don’t forget everything they had learned! So whats a mom to do to get her kids excited for homework? How about incorporating Skylanders Giants!
Yes Skylanders Giants has come out with a Skylanders Giants Homework Pack that features five chapters of fun – bascially one for each week day!
The Skylanders Giants Homework Pack using them Skylanders characters and story line and incorporates it into homework. For example, in History there is a story kids need to read about the history of Skylanders and then answer questions about the story. Kids think they are just hearing about Skylanders but really they are reading, remembering the story and answering questions. It keeps them thinking about the story and really paying attention for all the “chapters!” I downloaded this pack for my boys and I have been reading it to them and having them work together to answer the questions. I hope to do this every few weeks and see if they can continue to answer the questions and hopefully get faster at comprehending them.
