Wii Game Review: “Angry Birds: Trilogy”

Disclosure: I was sent this game to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Angry Birds Trilogy (Wii)

Released: August 13, 2013

Studio:  Activision

Finally one of the most popular mobile games ever, Angry Birds is flocking to the PlayStation 3. Take command of the giant slingshot and fire the Angry Birds towards their enemy, the egg stealing Space Pigs as they hide behind wood, ice and stone in order to try to escape your revengeful attacks. This is a physics game that will need you to think about your direction, power and strength of each and every fling of our heroes and with each Angry Bird possessing their own special ability, you will have to think wisely! Great examples of the abilities that you will have to your disposal is the fact that blue Angry Birds can split into three to inflict maximum damage, black Angry Birds have explosive power, literally, and white Angry Birds possesses the skill to drop explosive eggs where needed!

Over 40 hours of gameplay fun have been added, with 165 fan-favorite holiday and seasonally themed levels on-disc.

This is the first Angry Birds for the Nintendo Wii and my boys were thrilled to try it out.  In Angry Birds Trilogy, there are three sections:  Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Classic, and Angry Birds Rio.  Each section has its own sets of levels and you can have up to six players saved.  It is just like the iPhone/iPad versions of the games, but no more small screens!  We actually have our Wii hooked up to a projector in the basement so we play Angry Birds on a real big screen.  The controls are easy, my boys (5 and 6) were able to figure it out on their own.  So yes its just like the smaller versions of Angry Birds but it is pretty amazing on big screens.  The controls of flinging the Angry Bird do take a little bit of getting used to as you have to grab the slingshot at just the right angle but my boys have it pretty down and its fun for them.  I’d recommend it for anyone looking to take Angry Birds to their big screen.

Here are my boys playing it on our big screen in the basement:
