Celebrating National Pizza Month With CLASSICO

Better than never I guess but October is (or was) National Pizza Month.  What better way to celebrate National Pizza Month than by making your own pizza!  I know for my family, we love pizza and for whatever reason we have yet to make pizza as a family. Well that is something that needs to change!  Recently I met Melinda from Look What Mom Found and Dad too and she and her family make pizza every Friday.  To me that sounds like an awesome tradition!

So when I was sent some goodies from CLASSICO to Elevate our Pizza Night, I was so excited!  Pizza doesn’t have to be just dough, sauce, cheese and meat.  According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of pizza is “a food made from flat, usually round bread that is topped with usually tomato sauce and cheese and often with meat or vegetables.”  Pizza can really be anything though you slap on a piece of dough.  Now I have never realized there was different pizza sauces, but CLASSICO makes three of them – Traditional, Fire Roasted and White.

So here is my new favorite pizza recipe:

Chicken Bacon Pizza

Ingredients:

• CLASSICO Pizza Sauce (I used Traditional this time mixed with 1 teaspoon garlic and 1 tomato)
• Chicken (I cooked this and diced this ahead of time)
• Bacon (cooked and crumbled)
• Mozzarella cheese
• Pizza Crust (I used Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust)
• Red Onion (diced)

So next time your drawing a blank at dinner time, why not do something fun and have a homemade pizza night.  Whether it be everyone making their own individual pizzas (what we are going to do next time) or one big pizza, let everyone pick out the ingredients and get cooking!  No more boring pizzas!  Want inspiration, other than my fabulous pizza recipe, check out the CLASSICO website for more recipes!
