Eric Carle is an author that I have probably read every night for the past almost seven years. From “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” to “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?” my kids have all been instantly hooked. My 2 year old daughter especially is fascinated by his books. Now I know I have seen some of the Very Hungry Caterpillar toys before, somewhere, but I never really gave it a second thought before. Well several toys from The World of Eric Carle were just recently awarded the prestigious Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Awards. In case your not familiar, I wasn’t, the Oppenheim Awards are the only independent consumer review of children’s media by child development experts Joanne Oppenheim and her daughter Stephanie Oppenheim. The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinm Award represents the most innovative, engaging new products of the year and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award is given to outstanding new products that enhance the lives of children. I love that there is an independent party that is reviewing toys out there that is also a child development expert!
With the holiday season in full swing here, who isn’t sick already of their kids saying “I want this” or “I want that”, The World of Eric Carle has some amazing award-winning toys to consider.
I got the chance to check out a few of these awesome toys and I am definitely impressed. Between the uniqueness of the products to the quality craftsmanship to the bright colors, these toys really bring the stories from Eric Carle to life. I can definitely see why they are award-winning toys.
