Disclosure: I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
First off in a dreary and snowy (yes it rained and snowed in the same week here) month here in Chicagoland, the Laguna Blue 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport was exactly what I needed. I had actually never driven a Mitsubishi so I didn’t know what to expect, but it surprised me with its smooth ride. This small SUV has 4-doors and seats five, although I would say four adults would be more like it. The back seat is big, there just is not a lot of leg room which is why five adults would be a tight fit.
This shows the front seat all the way back, where the leg room would be. So I always say if a tall person has to sit in the back for him/her to sit behind whomever is in the front that is the shortest!
If you have kids like me, then five shouldn’t be a problem and yes I was able to fit three kids in the backseat – one car seat and two booster seats. Yes I even had one of the seats rear-dancing and all five of us fit.
Here is the front dashboard, with the optional Navigation with Rearview Camera. I will say I am getting hooked on having the navigation in the dashboard. No GPS rolling around on the dashboard or having to remove it so your window doesn’t get broken so someone can steal it (yes that has happened to me.) This screen controlled everything and was of course touch screen!
Here are some more backseat shots, I love the middle arm rest with cupholders:
And this peek-a-boo door would be great if you wanted to reach a cooler in the truck from the backseat!
Trunk! Very big!
Lots of extra storage spaces, small as they may be:
Car seat latch system:
Spare tire in trunk, yeah for not being under the car!
Some more notable features (options can be added or may come with the model you look at):
I also made a quick YouTube video of the car, sorry its not the best I was holding the camera as I was taking the video:
Bye, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport – I’ll miss your bright blue color the most (especially when I can’t find my current black minivan in a parking lot!)
Overall, I found the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC 4-Door SUV to be a great car to whip around in. Whether I was making a quick trip around town or driving an hour away, I had no complaints. I wouldn’t recommend this to a family of five but for four or less it would be great. It is also decent on gas, getting 26 MPG on average (with similar SUV’s getting an average of 16-32 MPG.) It’s Overall Vehicle Score for Safety, compared to similar size and weight cars, is four stars, which is something great about it as well!
