2014 Chevy Impala @districtdrive {Car Review}

Disclosure:  I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

So for one week I got to drive around in a 2014 Chevy Impala and wow was it nice.  First off it is a full-size sedan that seats five people, yes I was able to fit my family of five in there.  I had one car seat and two booster seats in the back seat, although for full-time use it would be tight for us.

Some features I loved:

  • Lots of legroom – especially in the back seat
  • Sleek design
  • Auto headlights, yes I love when I don’t have to remember to turn them on/off
  • Ten standard air bags, including driver and front passenger knee air bags – seriously the car would be like a giant cushion if all the air bags went off!
  • Touch screen menu/navigation with Chevrolet MyLink (I didn’t use MyLink but it sounds cool!)
  • 6 months of OnStar included (I didn’t use this but I love that you get 6 months to try it out!)
  • Forward Collision and Rear Cross Traffic Alert – alerts you if someone is too close to you in the front or side
  • Lane Departure Warning – this alerted me if I was veering out of my lane (you can of course turn this off)
  • Rear vision camera
  • Power sunroof with second row skylight
  • EZ Key Passive Entry System
  • Heated steering wheel in addition to heated seats – especially nice in the cold Chicago weather
  • Handsfree calling
  • 2 Power outlets (12 volt)
  • Huge trunk!

You can just type in the address, not separate fields for street, address…

Super cool feature – hidden spot behind dashboard with USB port:

That little button on handle is how you unlock the car if you don’t want to use the keys!

I also made a quick YouTube video of the car, sorry its not the best I was holding the camera as I was taking the video:

Overall, I found the 2014 Chevy Impala to be a smooth ride that I will miss.  My husband actually liked the car so much, he has added the Impala to his future new car possibilities.  I drove the car both short distances around my town and a little farther, no complaints here.  I barely used half a tank of gas all week, so I guess the gas mileage is decent at its average of 22 MPG.  This car had some features I had never seen before such as the heated steering wheel, lane departure warning, alerts and so many air bags, and I definitely see the Chevy Impala making a comeback.  I honestly think of an Impala as a big car that older people drive, not senior citizens but rather the generation of people in their 50s.  This is a car younger generations will love and the size didn’t see that boat-ish inside to me!  For a family of four to a single person, this is a great car for anyone really.  The price of around $26,000+ (depending on features of course) is a little high for a sedan for me, but it does scream “safety” and “luxury” inside.

VISIT:  Check out the 2014 Chevy Impala online or look for it at your nearest Chevy dealership.
