Disclosure: I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.
My oldest son is in first grade and he gets math, to an extent. He uses his fingers, which drives me absolutely crazy so I have been working with him to draw lines to count. I explained that he will eventually run out of fingers when he has to count past 10. When I was younger I had this wooden bead thing, an Abacus, that I loved but they are not as common anymore. One of my favorite stores, Learning Resources, has a counting frame that is the same concept as an Abacus just smaller.
Not your ordinary aBUGcus—slide the ladybugs on this leaf to count, add, subtract, and so much more! Twenty bugs in 2 rows and 2 colors become fun hands-on math tools to help with counting to 10 or 20! Includes one Counting Frame and Activity Guide. Grades: K+
Leaf measures 8″L x 4.5″W.
