Disclosure: I received the product below in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Last week Mia Hamm, mom of three and International Soccer Superstar, hosted National Fit Made Fun Day (September 6th) to help break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for “Most children making sand angels on the beach”, “Most people hopping on one foot” and “Most people doing a swim dance.” As a mother and athlete she definitely knows the importance of being active and how to make it fun. I know my own kids have become quite attached to their video games and tablets that they no longer want to go out and play anymore. “It’s boring outside” I hear a lot so I am constantly thinking of ways to make it fun for them outside or even just doing something fun around the house, without their tablets or games! The CDC recommends 60 minutes per day of physical activity.
Don’t get me wrong there is some technology that makes physical activity fun and challenging, but it is important to find what works best for your kids and family. I got the chance to interview Mia Hamm about how she handles technology in her family and keeps them active. She has some great tips and it is nice to hear how even though she leads a busy life, she still puts family time first.
Here is the video interview:
Since Mia Hamm partnered with LeapFrog for National Fit Made Fun Day, I have a LeapFrog LeapBand to share as a giveaway to hopefully encourage your kids to be active!

They both LOVE to play outside, so as long as it isn't a million degrees or 2 degrees we are OUT!
We walk the dog as a family.
We play outside in the backyard, tee-ball, soccer.
we all go for walks in the woods we love outside
we go outside together as a family to get out and get active.
Sometimes I remind them it will rain soon. I play chalk outside and they follow suit.
For me its hard to keep my kids from wanting to go play outside. They are still little and in the exploring stage so thankfully we get a lot of outside play. c=
My grandson lives with me and the other two come to my house at least 2 times a week. It is easy to get them to go outside because I live by the river and they love to walk along the river, see the geese, or play in the backyard on the swingset. They also love to rake leaves in fall, swim, and go on "adventures". They also love to ride bikes down on the river road so it's pretty easy to get them moving outside.
My son loves to go out and play with his puppy.
my son loves going outside to play. i try to buy summer items on clearance to make it even more fun.
