One piece of advice my mom gave me about my kitchen is to buy Corelle dishes. Why Corelle? Because they are virtually indestructible. I have owned Corelle ever since I moved out on my own and they have never let me down. I have only replaced my Corelle sets when I wanted a new design.
Corelle has launched a “Plate Shame” video series on their Facebook page. The videos are a playful take on what happens if you don’t have Corelle dishes.

If you own Corelle dinnerware from before 2005, consider removing it from your kitchen cabinets due to concerns for high levels of lead
No, I don't currently use them, but they would be better than my current dishes which are so heavy and chip easily
