Common Core is honestly something that has yet to grow on me. It is something that is supposed to benefit our kids with how they learn but it is also something that is very different from the way I learned things. Math especially under the new common core standards is almost like a foreign language to me. Sure the answer comes out the same but they way the teachers are teaching and kids have to show their work is different. My one son especially needs all the help he can get with math as he is constantly mixing things up.
GO Math! Academy is a website that is you guessed it…all about math. It is a fun way for kids to learn math and practice without feeling like they are necessarily doing work. When I showed my 6 year old GO Math! Academy he immediately asked if he could play that “game.” I of course said sure, but that he could only play on the computer for a few minutes – which he of course asked to play longer after I told him time was up! Yeah for reverse psychology! Oh and yes GO Math! Academy is a website, not an app.
What I have found that makes GO Math! Academy unique is that it is an at-home math learning only website that features math problems, help videos and awards. This is a perfect website for any child who needs a math boost and motivator. GO Math! Academy is designed for kids from kindergarten to 6th grade and is aligned with the goals of the Common Core Math State Standards. Kids can move at their own pace or parents can skip ahead a grade or review a concept from a previous year. Parents are allowed a profile for up to five children.
So here is our dashboard:
I have tried out a lot of educational websites with my kids and GO Math! Academy is definitely a good one for math help. I have been trying to explain to my boys how math is the basis for so much and they need to have a good understanding of it. GO Math! Academy is something that is more interactive than just doing worksheets and has lots of math fun packed into it. With over 7 million kids worldwide using GO Math! Academy, I think they are definitely doing something right!

This is a nice supplement to what they already are doing. My kids struggle with Math, and the Common Core seems like something completely different from the way I learned math. There are different methods than I am familar with.
The best thing to do is to join your state's anti-Common Core Facebook group. It would be better if our children didn't have to learn this convoluted, untested, unproven method. ;-)
