Keep an Eye Out for Some Changes Coming to Denny’s & My Visit to Their HQ #DennysDiners

Disclosure:  I am a Denny’s ambassador and will receive compensation and products in exchange for sharing this information and my honest opinion.

Last month I headed down to South Carolina where the Denny’s HQ is located.  Now you may think that it would be boring to visit the offices behind the Denny’s brand, but it was actually pretty cool.  I got to chat with so many great Denny’s employees and hear their thoughts on the brand, menu items and upcoming changes as well as spend some time trying out some of the new menu items coming next month.

The Denny’s Test Kitchen is actually located at their HQ and to me it was probably my favorite part of the trip.  Well yes its because it involved sampling foods!  So what exactly happens in the Denny’s Test Kitchen?  Well that is where all the fabulous (and sometimes not so fabulous) menu ideas come from. There are chefs there that cook and create new recipes to see what works and what doesn’t work together.  Let me tell you the new menu items coming out October 1st are amazing!  Nope I can’t tell you what they are, yet, but I will say I was more than surprised.  I was surprised that I liked the items as I’m usually not adventurous when eating (I usually eat pretty plain and basic foods) and I was surprised to see these menu items coming to Denny’s.  Curious aren’t you?  Sorry can’t say what the menu changes will be but know that you’ll definitely want to head to Denny’s in October.  There are so many great new menu items coming that I would say there is something for everyone.

I don’t know why but Denny’s to me is breakfast foods.  I know I’m not alone either, which is okay, but Denny’s really is a great place to visit for lunch and dinner.  Its funny too whenever we do go there for dinner, my one son usually gets breakfast anyways!  I’m not a big breakfast person so I love when I can get a great meal for dinner and my kids will not only get a good meal they want but its affordable.  Yes that is the other great thing about Denny’s that honestly I didn’t even notice before.  They have a $2, $4, $6, and $8 menu.  Yes super affordable!  You can even order something off that menu ($4 or more) and have that be your entree for the kids eat free day!

What you didn’t know kids eat free at Denny’s?  Not all locations participate but most do and it is best to check with your local Denny’s to see if they do and when its offered.  For my location, its Tuesday nights and honestly my kids ask every Tuesday to go there.

For the Denny’s kids menu, Denny’s is continuing their partnership with National Geographic for cool menus that kids can color and explore.  My kids love the menus because they have cool facts about animals and there a bunch of activities for them.  I love that Denny’s puts actual food pictures on their kids menus so kids can see what is actually on the menu!  This is a huge help when I am trying to figure out what all three of my kids want, this way they can look without me reading and re-reading the menu choices to them.

At the Denny’s HQ I also heard about their passion for the No Kid Hungry campaign.  Did you know that 1 in 5 kids struggle with hunger?  Since 2011, Denny’s has donated more than $1.4 million to the No Kid Hungry campaign.  That is the one big charity that all the Denny’s focuses on as a company and its definitely a worthy cause.  Denny’s is teaming up and raising funds by connecting kids with healthy food where they live, learn and play.  Through September 30th, nearly 1,600 Denny’s nationwide will sell coupons in support of the No Kid Hungry efforts to help the more than 16 million American children struggling with hunger.  For a $3 donation, guests will receive $9 worth of coupons redeemable at participating Denny’s restaurants.  Every dollar donnated helps feed a child up to 10 healthy meals.

In addition, guests are invited to contribute to the cause via two other ways this year, including making a monetary donation of their choice at dennys.com/nokidhungry; all who donate online will be e-mailed a coupon for $5 off their next $20 meal at Denny’s. Customers can also pledge their support by purchasing one of three exclusive No Kid Hungry campaign t-shirts – designed by Denny’s team members in Texas, Nevada and Kentucky – for $10 each. T-shirts are produced by Booster, available at dennys.com/nokidhungry and a portion of all sales goes directly to No Kid Hungry.

  • Denny's is one of my favorite places to dine. I don't get to eat there often because the nearest one is 45 minutes away. I've never been disappointed by the food there. I like that they are participating in the No Kid Hungry campaign.

  • We love Denny's also! It is one of our favorite places to go because everyone can get what they want. Plus the prices are great for the quantity and quality of the food.

  • Wow! I haven't been to Denny's in years.. but I have to check it out again. The build your own chicken wraps looks awesome. You can't beat it for 4 bucks. Also I love that they participate in the No Kid Hungry program.
