Playing With Some New GeospacePlay Toys {Review}

Sometimes it nice to break the mold of toys and come up with something that will surprise kids.  GeospacePlay has come out with two new products that have definitely surprised my kids.  I think with Geospace manufacturing and distributing fun, unique toys for over 20 years now they definitely know what they are doing!

GeoFlux – Amazing Mesmerizing Interactive Spring Toy

GEOFLUX™ magically transforms from what looks like a series of rings into a wondrous 3-D sculpture that resembles a giant atom or an extra planetary orchid! What’s more, when you insert your hand through the coils GeoFlux begins to spiral up and down your arms, spinning so fast it’s a blur of motion. GeoFlux can then “bridge” over to your other arm, staying in perpetual motion. A fantastic party trick and exercise tool, it “fluxes” easily from person to person. Or place GeoFlux on a broom handle, lower one end slightly, and watch as it moves along the shaft, twirling so rapidly it looks like a giant soap bubble. Constructed of one continuous band of rugged stainless steel, GeoFlux folds flat for easy storage in the included travel pouch.  Ages 6+

My kids are absolutely amazed by this toy, which I actually have a hard time calling it a toy because it is so much more.  My boys (6 and 7 years old) actually fight over who uses it and I admit I have played with it while sitting her at my computer thinking.  I admit when I first saw the GeoFlux I had doubts it would actually keep my kids entertained but it has surprised me.  It is one of those things that is hard to put down once you pick up.  My boys roll it from one arm to the other’s arm, they pretend its a magic trick, they try to count the rings and they see how many times they can get it to swirl.  Its silly that something so silly can be so entertaining but really it is.  I love that it even comes with its own travel pouch!

GameTime Basketball

Now kids can shoot hoops anytime and anywhere, in bad weather and fair, at night, at school, on the floor or on any table. Our new GAME TIME BASKETBALL set engages players for hours as they perfect their form and strive to win championships. To play, simply place the suction-tipped basket on a smooth-surfaced floor or tabletop, and position the spring-loaded ball launcher on the court, aiming at the hoop. The challenge is to launch the mini b-ball gracefully through the air and into the basket, competing with other players for distance and accuracy.  Ages 6+

This is a unique basketball set because it is easily taken apart and thrown into the included bag to attach to something, like a backpack.  My 3 year old daughter especially had fun with her because it was perfectly sized for little hands and she thought it was so “cute.”  My boys couldn’t wait to attach it to their backpack, which I had to say no because we only had one and they couldn’t agree to whose backpack it would go on!  It is easy to put together and surprisingly it holds up well!  I love that it comes with a bag to store everything in and its something my kids can do themselves.
