Quality Americana-themed Jackets For Kids From Up and Away {Review}

Disclosure:   I received the product below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

As a mom I will say it is hard to find coats for my kids that are warm enough but still one they want to wear.  My oldest son especially is picky and wants only “cool” jackets now that he is in 2nd grade.  Up and Away is a company that makes exactly those types of coats.

Not only are their coats adorable and “cool” looking but they are warm enough for outside playtime.  Kids can wear the coats to stay warm and even use them for “make-believe/play.”  All of the jackets are considered authentic/classic styles that should continue to remain popular year in and year out.  The coats available are:  A-2 Bomber, MA-1 Flight, Officer’s, Field, Space Shuttle, RCAF Bomber, RCAF Flight, CDN Snowbirds, Motorcycle, Racing, Boy’s Letterman and Girl’s Rock & Roll.

I got the chance to check out the Up and Away Americana-themed Field Jacket with my son and he loves it.  I think it helps too that it is super soft and snuggly.  It is actually 100% cotton, which so many warm jackets nowadays are either not machine washable or they are stiff feeling.Up and Away is a company that wants to promote Americana to kids.  Basically they want to inspire creativity in kids while offering high quality, authentic styling coats.

When I first saw the coat, I was impressed.  It looks like a real coat a person in the Field would wear, from its design to its patches.  Oh and the best part…its machine washable! I will say though I ordered a size 8 for my 7.5 year old and its huge on him.  Up and Away does recommend a size up so I thought I would be okay but its big now.  I am thinking though my son will be wearing it in no-time since he is having a growth spurt right now and eating me out of house and home!

The quality of the coat is amazing though, with the soft material and then authentic looking patches, it looks real (but its not stiff like real Army coats usually are.)  My son loves all the pockets and the high collar around his neck.  It doesn’t have a hood, but my boys tend to not want to use their hoods anyways.  I would recommend this coat to any parent looking for a coat for their child who is into Army stuff, or if their not then check out all the other adorable Up and Away coats!
