Family Bowling & More at Pinstripes (South Barrington, IL) {Review}

Disclosure:  I received bowling and dinner for my family in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Bowling is something to me that is an American classic tradition, but for whatever reason my family had yet to go bowling together.  Its not that I didn’t want to take them bowling but I just didn’t think our local bowling alleys were really kid-friendly. Well Pinstripes is a bowling alley that is not only kid-friendly but it would be amazing for adults as well.  When you walk into Pinstripes you will not feel like your in a traditional bowling alley.  To me its very “fancy” as they offer not just bowling but also bocce and a nice restaurant/bar.

I was there for a special event which including bowling and making our own personal pizzas.  Pinstripes will work with different groups for birthdays or other special events to create a whole experience based on what you want.  I love that you can customize a whole event or just bowl if you want!

Once we were done making our pizzas and they were cooking, we set off to bowl.  The bowling alley reminded me of a big comfy family room with some bowling lanes.  The other great feature about Pinstripes is they can move the walls around depending on how big the party size is.

Setting up the players was super easy and we were able to add bumper bowing for whichever player would want it.  To make it even easier to bowl Pinstripes offers ball ramps that you can pull over to slide the ball down – perfect to make the ball go faster than just pushes it from between your child’s legs!

Now usually pizza and other greasy food is typical bowling alley food, but like I mentioned before Pinstripes is not your typical bowling alley.  Their food is awesome!  From the homemade pizzas we made to all the other fabulous appetizers we tried out, everything was awesome and far from what you’d expect from a bowling alley!  They actually have better sounding food than some of the restaurants I go to!  Like Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Open-Face Grilled Salmon, Gnocchi & Ahi Tuna and Braised Boneless Short rib – yum!
