Mess-Free Activities for Kids to Make and Play {Review}

The holidays can be stressful, which to me is an understatement, and lately it seems like it has become technology-filled at my house.  Everything needs a USB cord, batteries, remote, updates to be installed and so forth before you can even get started on it.  Don’t get me wrong, I love technology and embrace it, but sometimes I miss those simpler times before the tablets, video games and battery hogging toys.  Oh and its nice when something my kids get includes everything in the box they need so I don’t have to 1) buy anything else right away and 2) search for batteries.

Well PomTree crafts is a company that not only makes adorable craft kits moms can afford but they offer tons of fun without a drop of glue, tape or huge mess.  They actually came out with five great kits that cost $13 or less!  The concept behind PomTree is “Stuck on fun” meaning everything has a sticky backing that kids as young as 3 can un-peel and stick. Kids can be as creative as they want or follow the visual guide that is included. So first kids get to design and create something, then they get to play with it and enjoy it.

I got the chance to check out a few of the adorable PomTree kits and my kids had a blast.  I cannot say enough good things though about how everything is included in the kits and there is nothing additional to buy or search for.

Pom Pals:  Mommy & Baby Owl Kit

This is an adorable puffy owl that my daughter loves to cuddle.  No glue is required, its all peel and stick. I will say I had to help my daughter peel the stickers off to stick them but she liked to put them on, with help from grandma of course.  It is super cute too how it comes with a little baby owl.  She said that is for her dolls.  We did get stuck on the feet though as they didn’t have a sticker on them to stick them on and I wasn’t sure how they were supposed to stay on.  We left the feet off as my daughter didn’t care.  It was a neat craft kit though that my daughter enjoyed creating and now she can think of her time with grandma as she cuddles with it.

Felt Pillow Puff Kit: Felt Kitty & Mouse Pillow Puff

This is an adorable kitty that you put stuffing the middle of and then stick it around the edges.  Again no glue or anything additional required.  My daughter likes to re-arrange everything and hasn’t decided on where to keep everything so we haven’t stuck it all on yet, but I know she is going to love it when we do.  I love that it is stuffed inside to give it that plush feeling.  This is a another PomTree craft that kids can not only enjoy building but then enjoy playing with afterwards.

Pom Jewelry: Pom Jewelry Kit

This is a great collection of a little of everything.  You get so much in this container that the possibilities are endless.  Nothing additional is required, other than scissors to cut the string to the length you need.  Everything either slides on or has a sticky on it to stick on.  My 3 year old and I sat with this set for over an hour playing around with it.  She loved being able to string the beads and pom poms on herself and sticking the stuff on herself.  Her favorite is the ring I helped her with.
