So what books did I get for October?
$8.99 – Hardcover
When small-for-his-age Noah Shrimpton moves to a new school, the class bully starts picking on him. Noah has no friends to support him and is afraid to tell anyone. He starts to use his journal to express himself, doodling all sorts of outlandish scenarios where he beats the bully (sometimes involving superheroes or giants!). Follow Noah as he learns to make friends and gain the confidence to stand up to the bully in this contemporary tale. Developed in conjunction with school teachers and child development experts, this picture book deals with the current issue of bullying in a sensitive way and is perfect for any school-aged child and their parents.
This is a great picture book about a kid going to school who gets teased by a bigger boy. He bullies him, and poor Noah doesn’t do anything back. Finally Noah stands up for himself and the bully realizes how badly he was treating him. This is a great book for any child who is either being bullied, a bully themselves, or if your child is maybe quiet or lacks self confidence. It is a great story and in the back there are even tips for parents on how to help your child if they are getting bullied. This would be good to read too to your child if you suspect them getting bullied but they don’t say anything.

Once up a time, three brave little pigs said goodbye to their mommy to make their own way in the world. Discover what happened when the big bad wolf came to call… When you see the matching picture, slide the tab!
This is a board book but it has a thick puffy hardcover that makes it stand out more than a typical board book. It features the story of the three little pigs and the wolf. To make the book interactive there are four thick tabs to pull out that have a picture and sentence on to go along with the story. My 3 year old loves to pull the tabs and I like how the book feels sturdy. This would make a great gift for any small child.

This wonderfully wicked box contains felt, thread, buttons, and stuffing so that you can make your very own Wicked Witch. Included is a book containing illustrated step-by-step instructions on how to make eight witches with stunning photography of each witch in its natural environment. Find the witch to suit you: from the Good Witch to the Old Hag, there’s something for everyone. Felties are great fun to make and this could be the start of your own magical coven of witch felties.
This is a gift set that includes a book and some craft materials to get started crafting your first witch. There are step by step directions to make 8 witches and it comes with some felt, thread, stuffing, and buttons to make your first witch. You will need to buy more materials such as more felt, needle and glue. It is cute though for a girl who is not the typical flowers and hearts crafts. Once the witches are crafted then the child can play with them and will maybe be inspired to craft other people. For the price it is a good starter set just keep in mind you will need to buy additional materials to make more than one witch.

This is the perfect activity book for Monster High fans! With over 200 pages of fangtastic fun, children will stay entertained for hours! This collection is packed with spooktacular student profiles, freaky-fab fearbook entries, killer-style sticker dressing, quizzes, games and over 100 stickers! Children will also enjoy reading as they come across scary-cool stories including Frightday the 13th, Field of Screams, No Ghouls Allowed, Fierce Crush and many more!!
This is an awesome hardcover book that is sturdy enough that I feel it is going to last the daily use out of it because there is so much inside it will be looked at daily. I have been flipping through this book and I still find stuff I hadn’t noticed before. There is so much packed into it from stickers to activities to stories and more. I am amazed at how much fun stuff is crammed inside. Its like a journal but more fun. I would say too that even if the child is not a huge Monster High fan, its still cute and its hard to not like the book!
