Gratitude Journal {Review}

Disclosure:  I received the product below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

With the holidays coming up it is the perfect time to teach kids to be grateful.  I admit my own kids are quite spoiled and everyday I remind them just how lucky they are.  It is hard though since they don’t know better and they are still young.  I am trying to teach them though and help them to understand to be grateful.  At dinnertime we talk every night about how their days were and something they are thankful for.

Something that I never thought about was having them write down stuff they are grateful for.  Well thanks to the Gratitude Journal I have an easy to use book that my kids can jot down what they are grateful for.  It may seem like a simple idea but having the book gives them not only somewhere to write down what they are grateful for but something they can keep and look back to.  I like that my kids will have a book that I can show them when they are feeling like everything is not fair and they don’t have anything.  Which of course as kids they say often.

The children’s gratitude journal helps build practice in just 60 days for kids.  Gratitude is said to make people happier and lighter on their feet, plus it makes for healthy relationships and futures.  It is important to teach kids to be loving, generous and grateful.

I will say when I first sat my kids down to do this journal they looked surprised.  I asked them to think of three things they were grateful for and to write them down.  It not only taught them to write down something they are grateful for but it helps them with their writing as well!  My boys are only 6 and 7 but they are doing great with their journals.  Like I said, it is something so simple I never even thought of but it is something that I can see helping my children.  It is designed for young kids and it even includes a spot for a drawing.

  • i give them note pad and they write thing in it and they send cards to people who have
    givien them gifts

  • I keep them in check by saying grace at meal times and helping do volunteer work at church and helping out our community food bank.

  • My daughters are parents now. I taught them to think of others and do the same with my granddaughters. We practice paying it forward and random acts of kindness as much as we can being creative in new ways of doing this. This makes them grateful

  • I don't have children, but I remind my nieces and nephews to always be thankful for the things that they have. Also, they are very good about giving their things back to others who have less.

  • I keep them in check on a daily basis. I try to make sure they understand that everything can be taken away tomorrow and to be grateful for all that we have. Even the smallest things!

  • My daughter is super grouchy in the morning so when I get her in the car, I have her tell me 3 things she's thankful for. I have to give some creative answers of my own, otherwise she will just mechanically name the same 3 things everyday. the process really turns her thinking/attitude around.
