Hot New Books From November From Parragon Books {Reviews} @ParragonBooks

So for a few months now I have received some hot new books from Parragon Books and they have been a hit with my kids.  I received some picture books for my youngest and some fun activity books!

So what books did I get for November?

Hello, Chick (Die-Cut Animal Board)

This is an adorable board book perfect for infants that is all about peekaboo!  It features all sorts of animals with a middle cut out of a chick for your child to peek at.  It would make a great gift for any new child’s book collection.

Jingle Paws

Imagine if your pets had their own special visitor on the night before Christmas! Meet Jingle Paws and his clumsy guinea pig helpers in this delightful festive rhyme from Margaret Wise Brown, author of the children’s classics Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny.

This is an adorable picture book that honestly my children are going to enjoy year round.  It features beautiful and colorful illustrations that kids will enjoy and moms can appreciate.  I really like that the story is quick wording.  What I mean is rather than being very lengthy on each page, its 1-2 sentences. Sometimes the lengthy picture books are too long and my kids can’t keep their attention span on it, but this is perfect because its short but still a story.  The story is about a cat looking for his friend, a puppy, who is actually santa!  Its very cute!

I recently re-decorated my sons’ room and put a desk in there.  I wasn’t sure what they would think of this book but even at 6 and 7 years old, they like it. They both love modes of transportation and this has been a hit with them especially with their new desk.  They are just starting to doodle and really draw and this book is great for teaching how to draw various cars, trucks and more.  There is seriously a lot jam packed into this book.  Other than drawing tips, there are also stencils to follow and stickers.  It may seem babyish, which is what I thought at first, but it does require skill and patience to draw so I’d say maybe 4-5 and up.  Like I said though my youngest son is 6 and likes it.  The book is organizes by tabs of the various vehicles.  If you give as a gift, which it would make a great one, then you might want to include some colored pencils and tape or a glue stick.

I wish I had time to doodle with this book myself as it is seriously adorable!  The book is a hardcover book full sprial bound with tons of drawings to color, stencils to use, stickers, paper doll creations and even a game.  There is so much jam-packed into this book that it would definitely keep a child busy for hours and would be a book they want to keep going back to.  I would recommend this to anyone looking for a gift for a child who loves princesses or anything girly as this book will definitely have something in it for them.  Its just too cute!
