Tilt Studio at Rink Side Sports {Gurnee, IL}

A few weeks ago my family and I headed up to Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, IL. The one place we always hit first is Tilt Studio at Rink Side Sports. Yes it is the same Rink Side Sports that has always been there but with some new games and a new name. Now Tilt Studio is not just a big arcade, yes it has arcade games but it also has a NHL sized Ice Arena, 2000 sq. foot Laser Blast and an 18-hole Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Golf. Oh and there is of course a small cafe as well since you will work up an appetite while in there!

My kids cannot get enough of it there and while it can be a little sensory overload, it is a great place for families to unwind. It’s funny too how each of us have a different favorite thing to do there. The way it works is you buy a game card first. The game card is money towards the arcade games which vary in price, the Mini Golf and the Laser Blast. Tickets earned are added to the game card automatically as well so you don’t have to worry about carrying tickets around.

The Ice Arena does have a separate cost but its not too bad and you can also rent skates there as well. There are certain times for Open Skate so you should keep that in mind if ice skating is on your list. Oh and what other mall can you ice skate in? Not many I’m sure.

Yes there is a cotton candy machine! It actually makes it fresh right in front of your eyes for $2.

This one is a screen of the Laser Blast Arena. Since I stayed out with my daughter who was too small, it was nice to watch them on the screen play.

Overall, we had a great time at Tilt Studio at Rink Side Sports. I would definitely recommend checking them out if your in the area. We easily spent three hours there so you can spend some quality family time there together. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well, which is not always the case. Tilt Studio is located in the mall but you can enter it from right outside the mall as well.  I’d recommend it as a starting point as we got there right when they opened and it was not busy yet.
