This past week I got the letter from my daughter’s preschool that there was a kindergarten meeting coming up in February. Kindergarten already, that is crazy that my baby is that old already! So to prepare her for kindergarten I have started introducing her to new apps that are all about letters and numbers since that is a big focus in kindergarten.
Wonster Words is a spelling app that not only teaches kids spelling and phonics but it does so in a fun way that kids will want to keep playing.
Wonster Words teaches:
There are puzzles, matching letters with words and mini-games all focused on learning letters and phonics. My daughter is 4 and she had no problem at all using it right off the bat. I will say it always amazes me how kids are so good at technology the first time they use it! I am hoping my daughter will start school in August with a good understanding of letters and their sounds and maybe even some vocabulary words.
I found Wonster Words to be different than other apps because it really is an all-in-one. Your child will get the letter recognition, hear the sounds of the letters and how they form words, and be able to use those words. The app is free to start off which comes with many words plus a free daily “words of the day.” More words and mini-games are available through a parent portal for an additional purchase.
I am not the only one who sees the value in Wonster Words. The app has won numerous awards, including Children’s Technology Review, Parent’s Choice, NAPPA, and others.
With all the amazing features and value in the app, it is a really great app to check out. For free you really can’t go wrong either to start off. I love when I find an app that my kids can both enjoy as well as learn something from. The bonus of the app being free is even better because it gives me a chance to try out the app with my kids to see if it will work out for them.

I love that the app works on spelling and phoenix. Both are so important! It also involves reading which is very important for children this age.
