Looking for an Allergy-Free Halloween Candy Alternative? #SkinnyPop

I partnered with this brand in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

As a mom of a child with food allergies, Halloween is a holiday I both love and hate. I love costumes and Halloween decorations, but I hate that my son can’t eat whatever candy he gets. I have to carefully check every piece and usually he gets maybe 1/3 of all the candy he trick-or-treated. He is a good sport but I know he feels left out. My son is not alone either, there are so many kids that have food allergies – including a few more that I know of in our neighborhood.

So every year I make sure to have allergy-safe treats to hand out. One year I received a whole bunch of trading cards to hand out, another year I had little toys and this year I have SkinnyPop popcorn. Yes the 100-calorie yummy tasting popcorn is allergen-free!

SkinnyPop is the perfect snack to hand out this Halloween for a few reasons:

  • Teal Pumpkin Project-approved! Free of all major allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, and soy
  • Made without GMOs, gluten, dairy, artificial colors/flavors, or preservatives
  • Excellent source of dietary fiber (just don’t tell the kids that one!)
  • Offered in bulk packs of 100-calorie bags that are perfect for trick-or-treat bags

I admit I am a SkinnyPop fan myself and its somewhat more addicting to me than Halloween chocolates. I love to grab a bag as I am constantly on-the-go and I love that I can share that with my kids. It is amazing how SkinnyPop has that old-fashioned buttery taste, without the greasy buttery topping or other artificial flavors. It is actually popped in sunflower oil which helps it to be artificial-free and yummy tasting. Yes this popcorn has flavor to it, if you’ve never tried it, and it is delicious. Trust me too I am not someone who buys low-cal food to loose weight. I buy foods that I love and its a bonus if they are low-cal! SkinnyPop is truly a snack you don’t have to feel guilty about eating.

So this year I got a bunch of SkinnyPop bulk packs and I put them in a big tub by my front door. I will probably still have some candy to hand out but this way I have options, especially for the neighborhood kids like my son who have food allergies.

Heck if I received one of these snack bags as a treat I’d think it was better than the houses that give out full-size candy bars!

Looking for a flavor other than butter? SkinnyPop has you covered with their bigger bags of popcorn!

Find It!

Look for SkinnyPop 100-calorie bags in bulk packs (up to 28 bags) at club and warehouse retailers nationwide. You can also buy SkinnyPop on Amazon!
