Ever since I can remember I have always associated PEEPS ® with Easter. Back in the day (I feel old writing that) PEEPS® were only bunnies and chicks in a few colors. There wasn’t really different flavors either.

Nowadays PEEPS® are pretty much a year-round treat with new varieties and colors available to celebrate other occasions. There are so many new flavors and colors available. My kids are now PEEPS-addicts as well.

Looking for that extra touch for an Easter basket for your children? PEEPS® are perfect treats for both boys and girls. If you don’t have a marshmallow fan then there are yummy MIKE AND IKE® candies which also work great in those plastic Easter eggs for Egg hunts! I love that I can find something that appeals to each of my three kids, which is not always the case! Each of my kids have their favorites and I admit I sneak a few from them.

Why PEEPS®?

I honestly love PEEPS® because they are low in calories, satisfy my sweet tooth and there is a flavor for whatever mood I am in. Most of the PEEPS® varieties are even less that 60 calories per one and if you are worried about gluten, many are gluten-free as well. I have found PEEPS® to be quite versatile snacks too. From a quick snack to incorporating into recipes where you might have used regular marshmallows to s’mores, PEEPS® are like fun marshmallows. My boys love especially using them for s’mores in place of marshmallows!

As a mom of a son with food allergies, I appreciate that they label for the top 8 allergens (milk, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, and shellfish) as well as a potential cross contamination risk for those allergens. I love that my son who has an egg/nut allergy can even have some (although some of the flavors did say it was made in the same facility as peanut products so do read the package first if there is an allergy in your family.)
