Do you have one of those kids that asks a lot of questions? Maybe your child is a sponge for information and can never get enough of it. My kids have always been so curious with their favorite genre being non-fiction books.
We have tons of non-fiction fact books that my kids love flipping through with various facts strewn across the pages but they are in no specific order really. One page may be about music and the next animals or a tall building.
The newest book by bestselling author Christopher Lloyd is a book literally about everything (well just about) all in order of how it happened. Each chapter covers a time period with the book going in order through the time periods. Each chapter focusing on events and people during that period. Instead of random facts on a page, it is read like a story where kids can read a few pages and feel like they are living during that time frame and what everything means.
This book is seriously awesome. I actually started reading it on my own and cannot believe how detailed but simple the book is. It is not overwhelming with information but still manages to cover key topics. It reminds me of a set of encyclopedias all packed into one but at a level that kids 10+ can enjoy. It is much more than just a book of facts.

We were watching Hocus Pocus just the other night and my 7 year old asked me 'Mommy, what is a Virgin?' I stood still with my mouth open for a moment, and then just told him that that I couldn't answer that question for a couple more years, lol. Way too early for the birds and the bees!!!
