Summer is here literally in full blast and one thing my family loves doing is having root beer float nights. It is amazing how something as simple as vanilla ice cream and a bottle of A&W Root Beer can make such a fun family night. My whole family literally has a blast making them and then eating (or is it drinking) them up!

Last summer was the first time my kids had a root beer float, and when I realized I was a failure as a parent for not introducing my kids sooner to root beer floats. Last year we tried a few different ice cream flavors to mix up our root beer floats but this year we went the traditional way of vanilla ice cream and A&W Root Beer.

We ended up with Diet A&W Root Beer which I honestly prefer and my kids could care less if its diet or not. I searched my entire grocery store and all they had left was the one bottle of Diet A&W which I can only assume means that a lot of other families were going to making some root beer floats!

Thinking back, I remember my own family growing up creating root beer floats with A&W so it really is a timeless tradition. Once I tasted the creamy flavor of my A&W Root Beer Float, it definitely brought back good family memories. There is just something about the unique, creamy taste of A&W Root Beer.
