Fun Hobbies and Crafts to Try at Home

During this time of considerable self-isolation, it is certainly recommended that you get your sewing kits out and start knitting! With children indoors for such long periods, it is no surprise we are all going a bit stir crazy; that is more of a reason to make use of all of that art and craft knowledge we all picked up in school. You can make the time special for your children, bond, and get creative!

Some Ideas to Get the Creativity Flowing…

Whether you like to knit or do woodwork – whatever your favorite hobby craft, it is time to break out the equipment! It is finally time that you found the time to unravel a bunching bobbin thread or find that glitter you misplaced! Do not waste any longer, get into the attic, and start unloading your equipment!

Matchstick Creations

There is an entire subculture devoted to the creation of matchstick buildings, boats, and cars; annually they showcase their creations at venue halls across the globe. With a little dab of glue and a bag of matchsticks, you can create anything that you should desire – recently a boy was featured in the news for creating a matchstick Empire State building! Wow! There are so many other things and fun that can be had with matchsticks, with a little bit of ingenuity you too may be featured in the newspaper for your wondrous matchstick creation!

Sewing Never Gets Old

Why don’t you take the time to teach your sons and daughters the values of sewing; while boys may appear disinterested, when they find that they can knit themselves a nice new football jersey then certainly they will be riveted with the idea, insatiable, foaming at the mouth even! There is such versatility with knitting, so many textures, and fabrics and materials that you can get from marymaxim.com, that you can make everything from underwear to seat-covers for your car. Not that you will be going anywhere soon, all things considered!

Four letters: Lego!

Lego is one of the oldest and most venerable building toys for children, and adults too don’t forget! Lego is universally known for its versatile nature and almost innumerable possible creations – from Buckingham Palace to Boeing airplanes, no shortage of fun can be had with Lego!

Flower Jars

Why don’t you go flower picking in your garden or on a local green, get some glue and an empty jar, and you can create LED flower jar lights! Dry the flowers appropriately and glue the flowers to the inside of the car, covering every smidgen of glass, then inside drop an LED light with a bulb and seal! You’ve just made a funky flower lamp!

Whatever it is that you do during your isolation you must make sure you attend to the needs of your children most of all; it is rough being young and confined between the walls of your home, children are naturally rambunctious and without appropriate consideration will go mental and you’ll end up treating them for Cabin Fever!

You must also give yourself the attention needed, isolation isn’t fun for anybody but take good care of yourself and exercise regularly. When all else fails, have fun with the flower jars!
