10 Reasons to Get the GOTRAX Electric Scooter for Kids

I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Years ago my boys had electric scooters and they loved them; luckily though scooters have come a long way and there are more companies out there that make them now. My boy’s old scooters were very heavy and bulky but they were just happy to zip around on them. Now though that my daughter is old enough for one, I was excited to read about the scooters that GOTRAX offers. I honestly would have never thought a scooter could be improved upon but they have definitely done that to scooters as well as helmets!

We got the GOTRAX GKS Electric Scooter for my 8-year-old and she literally zooms around on it all day! She thinks she is so cool and mature now that she has an electric scooter and I can feel better knowing its safe and age-appropriate for her.

Here are 10 reasons to get your kid a GOTRAX electric scooter:

  • My daughter is outside all the time on her scooter! I really thought she might get bored after a while or the excitement would wear off but nope not yet!
  • Affordable at around $100, especially when you consider that most entertainment is closed for the summer so this is at least something to enjoy.
  • Solid rubber tires that absorb vibrations making a glide effortlessly on cement or paved roads – my daughter has used on concrete, asphalt and even parts of the grass!
  • 7.5 mph means it goes fast enough to excite them but not too fast they will get hurt easily!
  • 4 miles per charge means you can go possibly days without charging the scooter which is great because my daughter tends to forget to plug it in (which she can do on her own) although I found it doesn’t take terribly long to charge.
  • With a suggested rider height of 5ft. or less, this kids scooter was built for kids! It is not bulky or too large for their little bodies.
  • It also only weighs about 17lbs. so its not heavy for them to maneuver. My 8 year old daughter can easily lift this scooter and move it around when needed.
  • Safe starting and driving thanks to the feature that both feet must be placed on the scooter before the motor will engage, giving your child time to position themselves before it the motor kicks in.
  • Even if the scooter is dead, she can still use it with her foot and running with it to go (like a traditional scooter.) This is a huge benefit for us because I am always afraid it will run out of battery while she is a block away and then she will have to drag it home (this happened with our old scooters.) This way even if the electric part dies, she can still ride it home with some good ole’ fashioned foot pedaling.
  • A great selection of colors to choose from means your kids can probably get a scooter in their favorite color or have their own distinguishable scooter if you have a few kids with them.

Always be safe

Oh and need a helmet? GOTRAX has the 2 IN 1 Kids and Teens Full Faced Helmet which is great for Bicycling, Scooters, Skateboards, Hoverboards, Roller Skating, or any activity that requires head protection.! I love that it is adjustable for ages 3-12 years old which means my kids can share it and it may be the only helmet we need for my youngest.

The GOTRAX 2 IN 1 Kids and Teens Full Faced Helmet has a breathable liner that is also removable to allow maximum air flow as well as the face guard can detach to make it look more like a traditional helmet.

Depending on the activity you may change the helmet for the amount of protection needed. It is also impact resistant and lightweight which is a must for kid’s heads. You can find this helmet is a few different color combinations as well.
