Getting Back in Hyrule With “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”

I received product in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

One of my favorite classic Nintendo games has always been Zelda. I played that game so much that even when I play today on our NES: Classic Edition I still remember the secrets in the game. Bomb this spot in the wall, yep I remember!

I tried getting into Zelda for the Wii when my oldest was a baby to give me something to unwind to but life happened and I got busy. I remember being all excited to get the game that I bought the strategy guide right away too so I could follow that. I unfortunately didn’t get far and honestly haven’t played much video games since.

Now though I have found myself with much more free time and the need for something to take my mind off our crazy times. Video games always relaxed me while giving me something else to focus on and challenge me.

Graphics have sure come a long way and the newest Zelda game does not disappoint. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available for both the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch. I chose the Switch since that is our newest system.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration, and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across vast fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning Open-Air Adventure.

This game came out a few years ago but is new to me and perfect for old and new Zelda fans. It does take a while to get used to if you’re used to the classic game since the graphics are so much more intense but there is so much more you can do. There is a lot of inventory to manage, villages to explore, puzzles to solve, villians to battle and even horses to ride!

There is so much to think about in this game and you have to problem-solve. Clothes matter (like armor), recipes need to be followed, food needs to be hunted for and so much more. I admit being super overwhelmed when I first turned the game on but I know it will become natural for me just like the original did. The game is a great break from the real world and I love immersing myself into a new world. Playing on the Nintendo Switch too means I can play while I am sitting in a parking lot waiting for a sports practice to end or even when my kids have taken over the television.
