Getting a Custom Cabana Chair

I received product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Going to the beach is something that I look forward to every year especially as my kids have gotten older. Sure it was great when they were younger playing with them in the sand but now I love that I can relax while they play. Back when they were younger I would just sit in the sand with them and play but this last time at the beach I realized I needed a good beach chair. I had brought a camping-type chair with me but it was up high and too upright. Plus it is not fun looking!

So what was I looking for in a beach chair?

I browsed beach chairs on the internet and one of my must-haves was that was adjustable. Being adjustable meant I could recline as much or little as I needed. I also wanted it to be lightweight since I am always carrying a ton of stuff.

I decided on a custom cabana chair and ended up getting two so my husband wouldn’t feel left out.

A cabana chair was what kept popping up when I searched because they are low to the ground which means it’s easier to relax at the beach with my feet in the sand. When I tried with my upright camping chair it was awkward sitting in the sand.

Being able to adjust my new chair is going to be awesome when I want to go from reading my book to working on my tan! The solid wood frame folds flat and the back adjusts into three relaxing positions. It comes with a custom polyester sling that you can choose from a variety of fabrics as well as change it out whenever you’d like with a different pattern. The slings are also mildew resistant which I feel is a must for anything by the beach.

The Inside makes beautiful custom cabana chairs in pine that are handmade by experienced sewers, upholsterers and woodworkers across North America. The only problem you will have with these chairs is narrowing down which fabric to buy and trying to wait patiently as these do take 6-10 weeks currently to make.

I have not been to the beach yet with my new chairs but they are ready to go when I do. They fold up pretty thin and are easy to store until then and I feel like they will be easy to clean since there are really not any nooks or crannies to get sand stuck in. I will say though you will definitely want to put an oil or water-based finish on the wood to seal it so it doesn’t warp or get water damage. I let ours outside and unfortunately, they seem a little warped and don’t rest flat in the grooves. I think too they will take practice using and finding the right position. They would be probably better inside as a fun chair or in a sunroom. The poles that hold the sling fabric also fall out easily so you will definitely want to make sure you don’t loose those.
