Partying It Up With Mario Party Superstars

When I was in my early 20’s I remember going to parties at my friend’s house and playing Mario Party. Yes the video game, Mario Party on Nintendo 64. We all piled in the basement and took turns with the controllers playing the game. I have played probably every version since and now that I have my own kids we love playing it on our family game nights. It is funny how we started out with simple kids games and as my kids have grown we have added technology.

Well just in time for winter and the holidays, Nintendo has come out with Mario Party Superstars. The new game features the 5 classic boards from the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games. There are over 100 minigames from throughout the Mario Party series to play in while traveling across the board. Players race across the boards, while sabotaging your opponents.

Bring the party anytime, anywhere with same system, local wireless, or online play. All modes support online multiplayer, so you can hop in with friends for a few minigames or a marathon 30-turn match from anywhere across the globe.

This game is awesome because it brings back the classic feeling from when the game first came out but with the graphics and controllers of the Nintendo Switch. I love the simplicity of the game and how we can play a few mini-games whenever and wherever. We have only played with the same system so far at home but I love having the option of local wireless or online play for added fun. With over 100 minigames too I don’t see us getting bored of this game anytime soon!

I was fortunate to receive a plaque for the game that we are now using as a winner’s trophy! It has been proudly displayed in bedrooms in the winners of our house.

Make your own trophy! This will give your kids something to do and be creative with and they can then receive an award for winning while passing it around the family. Some healthy competition is always a good thing and for teens, it may make them more willing to play so they can beat mom for the trophy!

Why do you need Mario Party Superstars?

Well you technically don’t “need” the game but it is pretty awesome and is sure to bring your family closer together – even it is just to battle it out in a game. I am planning on breaking it out for the holidays as it is a game for all ages from my nephew to grandparents. It is so easy to jump in and play a game and you are not tied to a timeframe. Plus Mario and his friends are a classic and everyone recognizes them.
