Back to School Checklist For Your Little Elementary Student

How can you be sure your little elementary student has everything they need to start the school year off right? With back-to-school time here, you’ll want to make sure that their backpacks are ready to go, that their clothes have been cleaned and pressed, and that their lunches are packed and ready to go in the morning before it’s time to run out the door.

Choosing the right school bag

When it comes to choosing a school bag for your little elementary student, there are a few things you need to take into account. The size of the bag, for one. It should be big enough to fit all of the child’s school supplies, but not too big or bulky that it becomes a nuisance to carry. The straps are also important – they should be adjustable so that the bag can be made to fit snugly and comfortably on your child’s back. And finally, you’ll want to make sure that the bag is durable and well-made so that it can withstand the daily wear and tear of being lugged around by a busy little kid.

Choosing comfortable shoes

It is so important for your child to have comfortable shoes to wear to school. Not only will they be more comfortable, but they will also be able to focus on their studies and not on their feet. Here are a few things to keep in mind when choosing shoes for your little elementary student:

• A lunch box, packed with healthy snacks and nutritious foods that they enjoy so they won’t be tempted by what other kids have at lunchtime

• Their homework folder and pencils

Choosing clothes and school supplies

It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing color, the air is getting cooler and it’s time to start thinking about going back to school. If you have a little elementary student, here is a checklist of things they will need to get ready for the school year. Remember to use this as a guide, because every child is different. 

• Clothes: At least four shirts (two long sleeves and two short sleeves), three pairs of jeans, and one pair of shorts. If you have a little girl that’s into dresses, a couple of Presley Couture’s tiered dresses work great when worn with sneakers.
• Shoes: One pair of sneakers and one pair of sandals for the start of the school year is good enough. When shopping for sneakers, be sure to get at least one pair of white since white tends to go with everything.
• Gym clothes. If your little student has gym class, they will need at least two pairs of sweats and one pair of shorts, and a few t-shirts.

A little bit of planning and preparation now will help make the transition back to school smoother for both you and your child.
