This one-of-a-kind kid’s remote control (shaped like Mickey ears) will provide a whole new viewing experience for children. How It Works:
The Mickey Mote works with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes Discovery Mode™, the interactive “Watch & Play” feature on the DVD! All parents have to do is program the remote control – there’s an easy and quick set-up guide in each DVD- and select the Discovery Mode feature on the menu screen. Within minutes, kids will be easily responding to questions, throughout the story, about scenes they just watched (such as “What color is Goofy’s hat?”) by pressing one of four color-coded buttons on the device — a yellow star, green circle, orange triangle or blue square – to click in their responses. Discovery Mode features include two levels of play, which provides more challenging questions as the child grows.

I think the Mickey Mote is a fabulous idea! Too many times have my boys picked up and played with the TV/DVD remotes that it is nice to have them have their own and only have 4 simple buttons on it! The Mickey Mote is also a great way to get your kids engaged rather than just staring at the tv screen blankly!

Now as far as the concept goes for the Mickey Mote goes, I love it. To get your Mickey Mote to work with your DVD player you just aim the remotes at each other and push buttons to program it, now my DVD player is old and I wasn’t able to get this set up but I am hopeful it will work with the new DVD player we are getting for Christmas. Since we couldn’t get the Mickey Mote to work, we were able to use our actual DVD player remote with the interactive spots on the DVD, you just us the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow buttons. Then when the screen asks something you just push he corresponding arrow to what you want to point at, even though my son was able to figure out the DVD remote, I am hoping to get the Mickey Mote working so he has less buttons to tempt him to push! So at least you don’t have to worry if your DVD player for some reason doesn’t work with the Mickey Mote DVD at least you can use your DVD remote. Watching the DVD is just like any other Mickey episode and then after awhile it pops up with questions for kids to answer – like should they use this item or that item. The questions are simple and sometimes silly, but I do wish there was more of them to choose from since my son was getting antsy for the interactive part I kept telling him about. Overall though I think the Mickey Mote and DVDs are a great way to engage kids and break them out of their starring at the tv mode!

Does not work with RCA DRC277B. Did not work with an older player we have in the car. Did not work with an even older Samsung carousel DVD player. At this point, I think Disney should publish a list of players they do know it works with. Good luck Kristyl

Sounds like you had the same issues as we did!...We bought the Dvd it took a long time for the interactive parts to come on and the remote does NOT work on our player either. The sad part is it's a new philips DVD player. Makes me wonder if it works on any!?
