K’NEX Robo-Creatures Are Taking Over My House! {Review} #knex

Disclosure: I was sent this product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

My boys love their K’NEX but they also love bugs, or actually anything creepy and crawly.  Leave it to K’NEX to combine their two favorites!  Yes K’NEX has a new line of products called Robo-Creatures.  These building sets feature an average of 150 pieces and by adding 2 AA batteries, your kids are set for hours of fun.  Yes hours!  First they need to build their Robo-Creatures which honestly do take a little bit, but thats part of the fun, right? Then they add the batteries and their creations move!  So since I got the chance to check out the three new Robo-Creatures, I feel like my house has been taking over by crawling bugs!

The 3 New Robo-Creatures Sets:

Each set features the K’NEX pieces you need and a motor, which allows for unique and exciting mechanical movement.  The move around all on their own after you turn them on.  Each set is sold separately but if you have all three set you can create the ultimate Robo-Creature!  The sets are for builders ages 7 and up but honestly my boys who are 5 and 6, had fun with them.  They needed help but it was perfect for them to do with my husband or I.

Robo-Strike

This guy is like a scorpion with an actual moving tail as it walks.  He was a little tricky to put together as he is the most pieces (163) but probably my son’s favorite of the three new Robo-Creatures.  It is just so strange to see it walking and whipping its tail when just a few hours before it was just a tray of pieces!

Robo-Smash

This one is a walking robot with moveable arms.  He kinda hops or hobbles around and is quite silly to watch.  My sons love his two teeth that stick out and how he walks towards people.  He is the smallest Robo-Creature set at 156 pieces and was probbaly the easiest for my boys to build.  He is a great set for any builder looking for more fun past just building it.

Robo-Sting

This Robo-Creature is a robot bee with moving wings!  As he walks around his wings flap up and down.  He is quite silly with how he (or she) has these wings flapping around but overall he is fun.  He was probably the most challenging (157 pieces) for my son’s to build as he has a lot of intricate pieces around his body.  Lots of fun though to build and then watch him go!

Here are some pics of our Robo-Creature fun!

Overall, what is great about the Robo-Creatures is that it creates a new experience for kids as they can no only have fun building it but rather than just displaying their creation they are encouraged to play with them!  Building something also to be durable enough to be played with is a challenge too that my boys were excited to tackle.
