I partnered with this brand in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Did you know that September is Emergency Preparedness Month? I feel like every time I turn on the television there is a natural disaster occurring somewhere in the world. Just the other day there was a tornado that touched down about two hours from me. It leveled at least one farm and damaged some buildings. I live just outside Chicago and its pretty populated here so not much room for tornados but natural disasters can occur nevertheless.
Well Motorola has come out with a set of two-way radios that offer always-on connectivity and instant communication. The Motorola Talkabout T480 keeps families ready for emergency situations even if the power is out or cell phone towers are down, as long of course as you have had your two-way radio charging. The two-way radio is be able to receive weather alerts and communicate with others within a community.
I honestly love that I can have some peace in mind during an emergency with the T480. We have two of them and I have one upstairs and one downstairs. I keep them on at all times so they are charged and ready for alerts. I have also used them to communicate with my kids via the two-way radio feature. My kids went to the nearby park a few blocks away and I love that the range was enough to reach from our house to the park. If you just want the weather alerts and radio, then one would be fine, but I wanted the extra one to be able to communicate as well.
Push a button to use as a flashlight:
Love that you can listen to FM radio! My boys love this for when they go to the park!
The belt clip doubles as a whistle for emergencies!
You can easily mount this on the wall:
As far as usage goes, we haven’t had any issues. I haven’t been able to experience any weather alerts yet but it is nice to know that we have them to keep us alerted. We haven’t even used all the features yet either and I feel like every time I pick one up I get to try something out new.
