Getting Quality Meat Delivered Thanks to George Foreman’s Butcher Shop #GFButcherShop #UltimateVarietyPack

Disclosure: I received the products below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Honestly meat shopping is something I dread. I never know what to get or what a good price is. I usually stand near the butcher shop and just buy whatever is on sale or everyone else is buying and when I get home I try to figure out what I am going to do with it. My husband actually prefers the old school butcher shop we have in town but they have such limited hours we never seem to make it there. Butcher shops though are limited in general as they are slowing fading out since so many people just pick up their meat at their regular grocery store now.

Well George Foreman is bringing back old school butcher shops, well more so he is bringing back the quality and premium meats you expect from a butcher shop. The best part is, the shop is online! George Foreman’s Butcher Shop is a direct-to-consumer store that offers artisanal cuts of beef, chicken and pork as well as gourmet sides.

I think the partnership with George Foreman and meat has been a long time coming. I mean how many people own the George Foreman grill, heck I have owned two of them. To me I expect high quality products from George Foreman and his Butcher Shop is no exception. I got the chance to check out George Foreman’s Ultimate Variety Pack and it actually impressed my carnivore of a husband.

For about $120 (free shipping) we got so many main entrees for my family and the meat was premium meat I probably would not have bought. All I had to do was pick up some veggies to go with and we were set for a few dinners. From the Peppercorn Crusted Tri-Tip to the Roasted Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Breasts, everything was amazing. Even the hot dogs were dressed up as they were wrapped in bacon. What I love about the Variety Pack is you get to try a little of everything that is offered so you know what you want to buy next time. For me, I loved the Chicken Breasts and my husband couldn’t eat the BBQ Smoked Pulled Pork fast enough!  I will say too that usually I don’t like frozen mac n’ cheese but this mac n’ cheese is amazing and I ate way more than I should have!

Looking for a gift for a carnivore in your life? You can’t go wrong with George Foreman’s Butcher Shop! Hello, meat delivered frozen to the door all ready to be thawed and eaten (or thrown back in the freezer!) Yes the meat does come vacuum packed and frozen. I was worried about this as it did take a couple days to get to me but it had Dry Ice keeping it cold and was still frozen when I opened the box.

Everything comes wrapped in butcher paper and then wrapped again and vacuum sealed:

The Foreman Family principle is “quality, integrity and trust” and would agree with that after trying the George Foreman’s Butcher Shop products. They really surprised me and made serving meat to my family a lot easier. Luckily in the Summer I don’t have to cook much since my husband grills, but I do still have to shop for whatever he is going to grill and with how crazy our schedule usually is it is nice too to be able to order right online. I know I will get quality products and the Variety Pack helped narrow down exactly what my family really likes.

Here too are a few tips from famous grill master, Boxer, Father and Businessman, George Foreman, on how to do it right:

  • Start with a great cut of meat from the newly launched George Foreman’s Butcher Shop. George is working with the top U.S. ranchers to provide you with top quality, USDA Choice and Prime meats delivered straight to your door.
  • Clean and pre-heat your grill on high.
  • Lightly oil everything before you put it on the grill. This helps the searing process and prevents sticking.
  • Resist the urge to move the meat once it starts cooking.  Leave it alone so you get great color and caramelization on the meat.  Follow the cooking tip George’s butchers have provided to know how long it takes to cook your particular cut of meat. The goal is to flip it only one time with tongs or spatula not a fork that will puncture the meat.
  • If you are pretty good on the grill then you can go for a little extra beauty by making crosshatch grill marks.  To do this, start you steak on a 45° angle across your grill lines.  Then, about a quarter way through cooking give it a quarter turn.  Then halfway through cooking give the meat a flip and repeat.
  • Rest Up – Put your steak on a plate once its cooked and cover it for 5 to 10 minutes to let it rest and allow the juicy to redistribute.  This is the way the butchers and restaurant chefs do it.  You will have the juiciest, tender, and flavorful steak.
