Kimbo Music CD Review and Giveaway (Ends 2/23)

I learned early on just how important music is and how much my son loves it. Everything just sounds and feels better when there is music, for example, for the longest time I had to sing a song when I would get my son ready to go in his car seat. When he would cry I would sing anything to make him laugh and now that he is 2 years old I am looking for songs that can teach him things. I am all for nursery rhymes but I was looking for something more.

In my search for educational music and dvds, I came across Kimbo. Kimbo has been around since 1958 in New Jersey and is widely accepted as the #1 children’s educational music company. What I love about Kimbo is that it provides a fun approach to learning and developing through music and videos. Their products deal with exercising, learning basic concepts and skills, and most importantly having fun while learning!

On the Kimbo website they sell over 350 titles that you are guaranteed to find something to interest your child. I was amazed at all the different cds and how there is a song for everything! When browsing their cds you can view appropriate ages, the song list, and download a mp3 music sample. Some of the cds also let you read the song lyrics. To make Kimbo even more impressive is the numerous awards they have received.

I was fortunate enough to receive a 3 Cds from Kimbo for my to review and the true test came when I was driving with my sons. My 2 year old loved it and smiled. He did not know quite what to think of it and then he started dancing in his carseat. He is not talking yet or I am sure he would have been trying to sing along. Even my 7 month old was laughing from his car seat. The music is just so happy and upbeat and I love the messages they are sending.

I have to say though that my favorite cd was the “Kimbo Music Sampler” as it had a little of everything: new releases, dances, fitness, rhythmic play, multicultural, learning songs, and singable songs. It contains over 70 minutes of music, 32 full length songs and is only $8.95 plus shipping.

Next I tried out the “Character Development Songs for Kids ” and it was another winner. This cd contains 14 songs for building relationships and self confidence and retails for $15.95. I love how the songs deal with these real issues of growing up and being a good person.

The last cd I received “Smart Fitness Smart Foods” I have decided to give away to one of my readers! This is another New Release and retails for $15.95. The ages it suggests are for 4-9 years old and it deals with eating healthy and exercising. The songs are funny and motivating with names like “Couch Potato!” and “Veggie Power.” You can also download a music sample of this cd. It is brand new and shrinkwrapped so you could even give this as a gift!
