Ziploc Products Review (& Giveaway Ends 12/3)

Do you know a Mom who is making a difference in her community one day at a time?

Is this Mom in charge of organizing the recycling center, or volunteering to help plant trees around town? Is she always carpooling the kids and making sure to keep the energy use down around the house?

To celebrate the resourceful, hard working moms that give back to their community (it might be you!) and are mindful of the environment, Ziploc Brand and TerraCycle, the manufacturers of eco-friendly products from waste materials, are searching nationwide for that special “Make-A-Difference-Mom.” We’d like your help in discovering the mom who outsmarts waste in everything she does. Perhaps one of your readers knows someone that fits the profile exactly? Or perhaps you are the “Make-A-Difference-Mom?”

Starting today and through December 15, families can nominate their moms in the “Make-A-Difference Mom” Contest at Terracycle.net by explaining – in 250 words or less – what small steps their mom is taking to make a difference for tomorrow and why their mom deserves to win the contest. Four “Make-A-Difference Mom” finalists will be featured on TerraCycle.net, but only one will win the Grand Prize!

The grand prize winner will receive the official title of “Make-A-Difference Mom,” a Ziploc and TerraCycle Prize Pack, $1,500 to reward herself or her community and a video camera to document her family making a difference!

MY THOUGHTS:

I love Ziploc products in general and couldn’t live without them. I have tried off brand plastic bags and containers before and they leak, don’t seal properly, and cause the food in them to become less than fresh. Even though I can usually buy the off-brands cheaper, it is not worth it to me. I also love how Ziploc as a company has teamed up with TerraCycle to create the “Make-A-Difference Mom” Contest.

I got the chance to check out the New Ziploc Double Zipper Freezer (galloon) bags and they are awesome especially with keeping meat from getting freezer burn. You can also hear the zipper sealing the bag so you know its contents are protected. I also received the Small Round Twist ‘N Loc containers and they are perfect for small snacks and leftovers. These containers have a Leak Resistant Seal, Marks for measuring and pouting and are safe for microwave, freezer, and dishwasher uses. They are also BPA free. Overall, I love how no matter what my need, Ziploc has a size and product for it!
