After seeing my in-laws suffer from medical bills and time off work, I know how important it is to find affordable plans for healthcare. My mother-in-law sprained her ankle so bad it required surgery and about six months of not working. She was miserable as she is typically very active and works as a personal trainer. It is also hard being they are not the youngest anymore so it is not as easy to find work either that is age appropriate. I mean once I get older, I know I want a comfy job when I get older because I know physically I won’t be able to work as hard as I did when I was younger.
One thing I suggested to my in-laws is to check out AARP. It is a non-profit membership organization that helps people 50 and over improves the quality of their lives. It offers excluisive discounts as well as great information on health, Medicare, Social Security and life over 50 in general.
Something I told them to forget about right now is BurialInsurance.org because I know it is just not in their budget. I do think it is a great idea but until they get on their feet it is an expense they don’t need.
