    ABOUT THE BOOK:

    Teenage years are tough, but this book will help teens as they journey through the ups and downs of adolescence. The stories in this book serve as a guide on topics from the daily pressures of life and school to love, friendships, parents, and much more. This collection will encourage, inspire, and amuse teens, showing that, as tough as things can get, they are not alone!

    MY THOUGHTS:

    There are so many Chicken Soup books out there, but this one is great because it is just for teenagers.  The book is full of 101 short stories (all about 2-3 pages) all from real teenagers.  They are stories categorized as:  Friendship, Life Lessons, Liking Yourself, Love and Relationships, Family Times, Tough Times, Taking a Stand, Giving and Getting Kindness, Funny Moments, and Setting and Reaching Your Goals.  I enjoyed reading the stories and reminiscing about my own teenage years, both the happy and sad times.  I think it would be a great book for any teenager, especially as a great break from school work or just to see that they are not alone in their own teenage drama.

      MANDATORY ENTRY: My tip for teenagers…

      ALWAYS listen to your parents, especially your mom! Mom’s are always RIGHT!!! I wish I would of given my mom’s advice more credit, but I was a teenager and I THOUGHT I knew everything! Haa-haa-haa, I didn’t know anything!

      My tip: Good friends get you thru anything. People who you think are good friends are usually only around when everything seems to be going right.

      My biggest tip is to be yourself and make your own decisions. I am trying to quit smoking, again, because I thought it was cool to do as a kid and it’s haunted me at different times in my life. I didn’t choose on my own and have paid for it terribly. Ugh.

      The best tip you can give any teenager is to encourage them to always be themselves. With so much peer pressure, many teenagers try to be someone else which leads to many issues including severe depression when they feel they cannot be the person that everyone wants them to be.

      We tell our son all the time to be himself. It is hard, but if you are determined you can do it.
