    The next evolution of virtual pets arrives on the Nintendo DSTM family of handheld systems this holiday season in Wappy Dog, a toy puppy that interacts with the player through the Nintendo DSTM. Wappy Dog engages gamers to raise their very own interactive puppy in both the real and virtual worlds and teach cool tricks, play mini-games and even converse! In Home Mode, communicate with Wappy via your Nintendo DS, and watch the physical dog react appropriately. In Travel Mode, interact with Wappy inside the Nintendo DS’s virtual world.

    MY THOUGHTS:

    Wappy Dog is the first game we have tried where it was a combination game and interactive toy.  Since my boys are young (3 and 4) I did have to help them and get things going but they were picking it up on how to play.  Wappy moves around in place but does not actually walk and he makes lots of noises!  He is pretty neat to play with both with and without your DS.  There are mini-games as well as taking care of your pet in general.  Wappy is made of a tough plastic which is nice with boys who are rough with toys!  They also surprisingly loved customizing their Wappy with stickers, and since Wappy has a blue collar it is not necessarily a girly toy either.  The animation of the game is decent and overall the game is fun.

      Our house is pretty divided with my girl’s liking cats and my boy’s liking dogs. However, they all come together to agree that bunnies are pretty great:)

      My daughter is into horses right now but she loves all animals and lord help us if shes a homeless or hurt animal because she thinks she needs to bring it home and care for it. I am as big of a sucker as she is though so I guess we will just live with our zoo and keep loving all of our fur babies.

      My daughter’s favorite animal is dogs.. We have 2 here and they love her and she loves them. Our one is a mastiff mix and he protects her like she was his pup lol…
