Super Duper Publications {Review}

Both of my boys are visual learners and stuff really clicks for them after repetition.  So we read the same books over and over, we do workbook pages with similar concepts and we watch educational videos online so they can see how stuff works.  I’m not sure what kind of learner my youngest will be yet but whatever technique works for her, I am sure I can find something at Super Duper Publications.

Super Duper Publications is an online store that was previously only open to educators and child therapists, but is now available to everyone.  Their products range from workbooks to software to games and even iPhone Apps.    While their products are geared towards teachers and therapists, they are also items perfect for parents to help their kids out for some extra practice at home in a fun way.  I got the chance to receive two products with my boys and we love them.

Dice Dude Combo

dice dude combo

Now you get TWO Dice Dudes for the price of ONE – the original Dude with the twist off cap, and the new “POP” Dice Dude with the top that Pops!

Twist Off Dice Dude Dice Dudes stand 5½” tall with a diameter of 3¼” and have big, green eyes that move side to side.

The Dice Dude Combo is seriously my new favorite items.  They are like the product that I always needed but didn’t realize it until now.  With two young (and active) boys I dread playing board games with them because they are constantly whipping the dice around and loosing them.  Even if your kids are careful with the dice, the Dice Dudes just give an extra special touch to gameplay.  I seriously love these guys!

One of the Dudes is a pop-top, like the game Trouble, which who doesn’t love popping that bubble top.  It has two regular dice inside and it does not open up.

The other Dude has a twist-off lid that you can insert your own dice for the game you want to play or use the included dice for your own game.  You get four dice (a regular 1-6 die in black and one in white, a yellow die with 1-3 and a multi-colored die with numbers 1-6.  This Dude is one you shake and the dice move around.  I honestly have nothing I would change about them!  These guys have made playing games fun again for us and no more losing dice or chasing after them under the couches!

180 Hidden Pictures for Articulation Practice

super duper publications 1

This is a workbook that features 180 Hidden Pictures pages that your child can color finding certain objects on each page.  Each page focuses on a letter sound and is perfect for you to read the directions to your child and have them repeat the words as they find them!  My sons think they are coloring simple coloring pages but really they are learning new words, sounds and getting practice following directions.  In addtion to what each page asks, such as “Circle 8 hidden turtles and 6 worms”, there are lines for you to write an additional statement such as “Count how many flags there are?”  We have been doing at least one of these per day and my boys now ask for their workbook pages!  We have been working on how the sounds of letter are in different words and then they love getting to color those items.  There is also a CD for more practice.
