Play and Learn with Wallace is an exciting series of preschool apps guided by the best practices of early learning experts and teachers. It combines educational games and stimulating interactive play in one dynamic environment to engage preschoolers through first graders in a multitude of ways.
They will learn reading skills, counting skills, problem solving, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and earn rewards that they can feel great about. The apps can be played by subject, or ‘super shuffled’ to create endless combinations. New games are regularly added within the app to further expand your child’s early learning experience (additional purchase required).
Key Features:

- All apps are hosted by Wallace, the lovable dog
- Reward charts and certificates satisfy a child’s desire for accomplishment and recognition
- “How is My Child Doing?” shows parents how their child is progressing
- Super Shuffle creates an integrated learning experience by automatically combining games from the different apps
- Your child’s profile is customizable by name, photo and theme, and keeps track of their achievements
- Continuous play mode keeps young minds engaged
- Choose between American or British English voice and spelling
Play and Learn with Wallace comes from Priddy Books, the best selling publisher of over 100 million children’s books worldwide.
First off what is great about this game is you can try all five games out for free before you buy the app. I hate when I buy an app that my kids end up not even liking, this way they can try all the games and then I can purchase it. We love Priddy books and this app contains the same fun illustrations. Then there are the games, which are all different and teach different concepts. I found that this app worked for both my 2 year old and my 6 year old, it has easy games like animal sounds and coloring but the counting and adding which was perfect for my older son. I was really impressed that all my kids (2, 5, and 6) could all enjoy this game.
The 5 games included:
My First App: This app teaches children first words, hand-eye coordination, visual tracking and number skills, and how to sort and recognize patterns. Includes six different games – Counting Ducks, Animal Sounds, Odd One Out, On Safari, Match the Pairs and Color It.
Picture Puzzles: This app features simple puzzles to develop a child’s creative skills, test their visual sense and build spatial awareness. Includes six different puzzle games – Follow the Lines, Matching Twins, Noisy Zoo, Shadow Shapes, Spot the Dot and Puzzle Pieces.
Counting Fun: This app teaches children key counting skills with simple learning games that help them recognize numbers and quantities. Includes six different games – Animal Counting, Touch the Number, Counting Fruit, Toy Shelf, Matching Pairs and Counting Vehicles.
First Spelling: This app uses simple, fun word games to teach children the essential first skills of reading, early phonics and spelling. Includes six different games – Letter Match, Guess the Sound, Matching First Sounds, Missing Letters, Odd Word Out and Spell the Word.
Number Skills (Age 5+): This app teaches children the essentials for learning simple math with activities about adding and subtracting numbers between 1 and 10. Includes six different games – Problem Train, Card Problems, Button Numbers, Raining Numbers, Bus Math and Math Class.
Each game has then multiple games inside it. For example in My First App, kids can color, touch specific animals or items, and match cards. It goes game to game so kids don’t have to keep picking new ones. This was nice because my 2 year old doesn’t understand how to swipe to a new game yet. The next games are the same with lots more games inside. I played with this for about 5 minutes and I didn’t bored with it, so I know my kids will be playing with this app for awhile. My favorite part though is the Parent’s Guide, which shows the Number of games played, Best game, Total Score and Progress. It even shows the Status of the Player too, which you can customize each player of course. The scores are both overall for all the games and then for individual games. I liked this because I can see how much my kids are playing and how they are doing. For kids there is the Player Profile which shows them their Awards and Certificates won, my sons get really excited each time they check this and of course are competing for who can earn more.
Overall, this app is definitely worth checking out. Whether your child is familiar with Priddy books or your just looking for a fun new app, this one has all the bases covered.
